I had had great feedback about this shoulder surgeon from more than one person and had found his credentials to be quite impressive after doing a bit of research especially with his extensive international training and the fact that he specialised in managing complex shoulder conditions.
So I decided to give him a try. Despite his busy schedule, I was pleasantly surprised to be able to see him within a few days and to have had an MRI scan scheduled within a week.
A few days after the MRI, he diagnosed me with a SLAP injury.
And basically, 10 days after my first consultation I was able to have the surgery! This was even after he accommodated for my busy work and travel commitments!
His manner was impeccable and he did his best to accommodate my needs given my passion for sports. I ended up having a sub-pectoralis LHB tenodesis, on his recommendation, which he explained offered stronger stability and better clinical outcomes for active individuals (if that is of any interest to anyone).
So far the surgery seems to be a great success. It just took a couple of days before I could move my arm with very little pain. I was back at the gym and started to play tennis 3 months after the operation.
